Vino i čaše
To make good wine, most important is the quality of the grapes. To taste the wine, examine its colour, establish weather it is clear or turbid, determine if one can smell the fruit, flower or something else, determine the texture and the body of wine, most important is a properly chosen glass.
Grapes are very different and the quality and bouquet depends on the position of land, quality of soil and the way it is cultivated.
Wine tasting highly depends on the glass. The clearness of wine is best realized if the glass is made of transparent uncut glass, has a thin surface and looks like a tulip. If you choose the glass well, the wine will do its best.
The height of the stem of the glass can affect the heat transferred by the palm to the wine, causing different development and expanding of wine’s taste and smell.
The shape of the glass forms different contacts of wine and our senses so the glass which narrows at the top concentrates and directs the smell while an open top of the glass opens the smell.
A sort of the wine determines the glass.
Champaign, white and rosè wines are served cooled on a specific temperature and they do not tolerate the day heat hence a high stemmed glass is the best choice.
Red wines set free and release their bouquet due to a warm palm hence a low stemmed glass is the best choice.
